Matt Cassel :Defender Matt Cassel has started for the Kansas City Chiefs, only 11 days after the appendectomy.Cassel led the team on the field for pregame workout Sunday and showed good arm strength, walking ahead of the first backup Brodie Croyle. Chiefs did not make the official announcement whether Cassel would start against the St. Louis Rams in the game between contenders surprise of the playoffs.

Cassel completed a 9-yard pass to Jamaal Charles on the Chiefs’ first game, but the leaders went three plays and out. Kansas City deferred after winning the opening toss and the Rams used in more than eight minutes on their opening drive, to go ahead 3-0 on the field goal, Josh Brown.

Tyler Palko is the third quarterback for superiors.

Kansas City managed just 67 meters with Croyle as the starter last week in a 31-0 loss to San Diego. Cassel had been listed as questionable.
